ZAKB digitizes the recycling depots in the Bergstrasse district with sensis+wiegon
The Zweckverband Abfallwirtschaft Kreis Bergstraße (ZAKB) in Hesse operates a comprehensive network of recycling centers that enables over 270,000 citizens to conveniently dispose of waste and recyclables that are too large for the household waste garbage can or should not be disposed of there. Advancing digitalization offers new opportunities to further optimize the service on site. We are delighted that we have been able to develop a digitalization concept for the ZAKB together with our German partner sensis GmbH in order to gradually support the association in the digitalization of its recycling centres over the coming years.
Maximum citizen service
In addition to the introduction of a cashless payment system using EC cards at all recycling centers, further digital services and greater automation are planned. The concepts include, for example, access and autonomous use of the depots outside of regular opening hours, control of recycling depots, the option of displaying predicted waiting times and additional services via an app and other cashless payment options. The aim is to improve the availability of ZAKB's recycling centers. The new construction of the recycling center in Bürstadt serves as a pilot project for these measures. Over the next few years, the gradual implementation is to be extended to other depots. We look forward to working together!
