Towards the future with the LAVU and environmental professionals

Together with the LAVU Upper Austria and the environmental professionals, we at wiegon spent two intensive days in Wels to develop digital impulses for modern waste management.

The LAVU is a real role model and heavyweight in Austrian waste management: 1.5 million citizens, 438 municipalities, 177 waste management centers, around 800 employees - and an impressive recycling rate of over 80% with 85 collected fractions.

Our common goal: to drive forward the digital transformation of waste management in a targeted and sustainable manner. We took the first concrete steps towards this goal during a two-day workshop. Two innovative pilot projects are to serve as digital beacons - they show the potential of data-based, user-centric solutions. The next stages are already in preparation: building on the pilot projects, we are developing strategies and measures that can be transferred step by step to other areas. This will create a scalable roadmap for the digital future of waste management.
