wiegon is linked to Gem2Go

Local authorities are increasingly turning to centralised apps that allow residents to access their local council’s services in one place. Gem2Go is one such app. From now on, wiegon is linked to it. Residents can now access their digital recycling centre with just one click.

How the connection works

A Quicklink in the Gem2Go app takes residents to wiegon in a matter of seconds. The recycling centre thus becomes an integral part of the digital services a local authority offers its residents.
 

How residents benefit

• Autonomous access with number plate recognition
  Access to the recycling centre is fully autonomous. Number plate recognition automatically opens the barrier as soon as an authorised vehicle enters. In addition, access can be granted via the app and a map if desired.
• Self-service weighing of recyclables
  Recyclables are weighed independently directly at the recycling centre. Billing is based on the ‘user pays’ principle; everyone pays exactly for what they actually hand in.
• Current capacity at a glance
  Residents can see in the app how busy the recycling centre currently is. This helps to avoid waiting times and plan visits more effectively.
• Overview of all bookings
  All past and planned visits can be viewed centrally. This allows residents to keep track of their usage at all times.
• Opening hours always to hand
  The recycling centre’s current opening hours are stored directly in the app and are always up to date.

For local authorities, connecting to Gem2Go means one thing above all else: greater reach with less effort. Residents use an app they’re already familiar with and can now also access their recycling centre through it. There’s no need for additional communication channels.
